Carol Guensburg edits for the Scripps Howard News Service, shaping investigative projects and overseeing op-eds. She's also a co-founder of AmericanFoodRoots.com, an online magazine of food and culture. She has edited for National Public Radio’s Digital News division and contributed stories to NPR.org, People, Edutopia, The Washington Post and other national and local news outlets. Previously, Guensburg worked for the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, directing its Journalism Fellowships in Child & Family Policy program and serving as senior editor for the (Casey) Journalism Center on Children & Families and as associate editor for American Journalism Review. Guensburg devoted two decades to newspapers, primarily the Milwaukee Journal and subsequent Journal Sentinel, at posts including Sunday magazine editor, food editor, reporter and copy editor. Earlier, she edited and reported for the Kingston (N.Y.) Daily Freeman, the Raleigh News & Observer and the late Miami News. A Wisconsin cheesehead, she lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband, Craig Gilbert. They have two delightful grown sons.
