Caryl Rivers

Caryl Rivers is a professor of journalism at Boston University. Her new book, with Dr. Rosalind Barnett, is The New Soft War on Women: How the Myth of Female Ascendance Is Hurting Women, Men--and Our Economy.   It has been selected by Oprah's O magazine as as one of  “Ten Titles to pick up this Month.”  

Caryl won the 2007 Helen Thomas lifetime achievement award from the Society of professional journalists. She has also won a Goldsmith award from the Shorenstein Center at Harvard for her work on gender and media, which resulted in her book, "Selling Anxiety: How the news media scare women."  Four of her  bestselling novels have been recently republished online by Diversion Press.  She is also at work on a new novel. “Fancy Girls," about college girls in the 50s.
