Stephanie Hughes is a producer for WYPR, the NPR affiliate in Baltimore. She’s also contributed to NPR’s “Morning Edition," “Marketplace,” Salon, “Life of the Law,” and the New York Times Local blog. She’s reported on issues including Baltimore’s thousands of abandoned houses, the revival of the cassette tape, and midwives practicing illegally in Maryland. She’s also taught radio, and designed the curriculum for a two-week workshop for teenagers with pediatric AIDS, where they learned to share their stories through sound.

A native of southern Delaware, Stephanie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications. Before she found her way to radio, she worked for the publishing house Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. You can find her on Twitter @stephanie_h.
