Jackie Frank is a veteran journalist who worked as a Capitol Hill reporter and editor for Reuters in Washington, D.C., for close to 30 years. She is now policy and public affairs manager for Global Communities, a nonprofit organization that works in development, governance and humanitarian aid in 27 countries. Taking a buyout at Reuters was a turning point in her life (and one made with the advice of many JAWS friends at the Palm Springs CAMP). She tried her hand at freelance writing and editing for about 18 months, supplemented with a part-time gig at the Washington Post News Service. She recently made another big life change, selling the home she had lived in for 22 years and buying a townhouse in Silver Spring, a diverse community outside Washington. She is a graduate of Georgetown U. and Washington U. in St. Louis and has three grown children.
