After 34 years at the Los Angeles Times, I retired in November 2015. I had previously worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Chicago Daily News. I've now established a freelance business. During my journalism career, I covered an array of topics--from technology to education to urban planning to transit/transportation to infrastructure. I've written many profiles of fascinating Angelenos. Historic preservation, architecture, music and lifestyles of the well-to-do are of particular interest to me.
