Rachel G. Bowers is the sports editor for the Athens Banner-Herald and onlineathens.com. Bowers is a graduate of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. She served as the editor-in-chief for The Red & Black and held several other positions in her four years at the independent student news organization. At the Athens Banner-Herald, she is responsible for coverage of 17 high schools, local sports and University of Georgia sports. Feature writing is her strong suit, though she is also heavily involved in page design, website content and special-section design.
