Ronnie Lovler

Independent Journalist
Writer,Editor, Translator, Navigator
Gainesville, FL
Now working as navigator for Affordable Health Care act in Florida. And I am passionate about making health care accessible to all. I am a former Knight International Journalism Fellow who returned in June from two years in Bogota, Colombia. I worked on projects involving crowdsourcing and mapping while a Knight Fellow. I won a small grant from Transparency International for one project that aims to map reporting about corruption with input from journalists and citizens.

Passionate about sharing the joys of journalism -- old school and new school -- with the next generation, Have done so with occasional university teaching gigs and also, community events or one-on-one social networking...in other words, we talk face-to-face.

Most recently I worked as a writer for International Media Support, reporting on journalism safety and security issues in Colombia, Honduras and Mexico.

In addition to my work as a navigator now, I continue to do freelance writing, editing and translating and have two book projects in the works -- on disparate topics -- Al Jazeera America and the Affordable Care Act.
