Hilary Niles is data specialist and business reporter at VTDigger.org, which covers state policy and politics in Vermont. She worked as graduate assistant at Investigative Reporters & Editors throughout her master’s coursework at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she studied data-driven journalism and multimedia investigative reporting on public policy. Hilary spent a summer at the Investigative Reporting Workshop in Washington, D.C., co-authoring a report with Charles Lewis on measuring the impact of nonprofit journalism. Other work includes covering state and local government for radio, print and the web in New Hampshire and Missouri, producing public radio features for WBUR-Boston’s “Here and Now,” and volunteering as founding program director of Portsmouth Community Radio in Portsmouth, N.H.
